Changing the TPMS Game with TireMinder’s New Flow-Through Transmitter

Having a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is vital to safe RV’ing, and having a product you can rely on is critical.  TireMinder makes many monitoring products and is North America’s most award-winning RV tire monitoring manufacturer*.  We’ve put over 23,000 miles on our RV with their TM-88C system onboard and have loved it.   It’s accurate, durable, and we couldn’t be happier with it.  Well, that is until TireMinder introduced a new flow-through transmitter and it’s changed the TPMS game.

WHAT IS A FLOW-THROUGH TRANSMITTER

A flow-through transmitter is a valve stem extension with a transmitter on it. It allows you to inflate or deflate the tire without having to remove the TPMS transmitter.  So why is this a game-changer?  It cuts down the steps and time spent on tire maintenance.  There are multiple steps involved in adding or removing air from your tires with a standard transmitter: loosen the lock nut, remove the transmitter, add or remove air, reattach the transmitter, check the pressure, and if it’s not right you have to go through the process again.

With a flow-through transmitter, you just take the cap off, add air, and check the pressure on the monitor.  It’s so simple yet innovative.  The new flow-through transmitters save us time and allow us to get on the road to our next adventure.

SPECS & DESCRIPTION

TireMinder’s new flow-through transmitter is compatible with all TireMinder RV TPMS transmitters. It measures 1.89” long, 0.87” deep, and 0.79” wide. It weighs in at just 0.7 ounces so there is no need to rebalance your tires.  The transmitter runs off a CR1632 battery (included with your purchase) that provides a lifespan of 9-14 months.

INSTALLATION

Installing the new flow-through transmitter is very simple.  Simply add the battery to the transmitter, turn on your monitor and set it to learn mode, and then attach a sensor to the valve stem.  The monitor will read the transmitter within 5-30 seconds.  You’ll then change the location on your monitor to the next desired tire and go through the steps again.  Once you’ve added all of the transmitters, you’ll return the monitor to monitoring mode.  If you already have a TireMinder RV TPMS you will need to remove the transmitters from the monitor prior to adding the new ones.

Next, you’ll set the baseline tire PSI to the monitor.  The baseline PSI is the Cold PSI recommended by the tire manufacturer and can be found on the sidewall of the tire.  You can also use the RV manufacturer’s recommended PSI, just ensure that they’re the same tires the RV manufacturer installed or this number may have changed.  When in monitoring mode, simply press and hold the center button and the first tire position will appear. Use the up and down arrows to change the PSI to the desired amount. Press the center button to move to the next position and repeat.  Once you’ve updated all positions, hold the center button again for 5-seconds and it will return you to monitoring mode.

HOW DO YOU GET ONE?

TireMinder offers the new flow-through transmitter on all of their RV TPMS products such as the TM-88C-FT and the TM-77-FT. Each product is available with 4 or 6 transmitters depending on which product you order
(TM-88C-4FT, TM-88C-6FT, TM-77-4FT, or TM-77-6FT).  If you already have a TireMinder RV TPMS then you can purchase two packs of the flow-through transmitters. Whether you order a whole new system or just the transmitters, you will be getting a high-quality product from an industry leader.

GAME CHANGED

We refuse to RV without a TPMS onboard and having the ability to add or remove air without taking our TPMS transmitter off is a game-changer. We can’t tell you how happy we are to have the new transmitters onboard. They’re saving us time, cutting down the need to remove transmitters whenever we perform tire maintenance, and getting us back to enjoying our RV experience quicker.
