5 Easy Instant Pot Recipes Your Family Will Love
The Instant Pot is by far my favorite kitchen tool whether I’m cooking in our RV or in a regular kitchen. It is so versatile, and quick, and easy to use. Literally, thousands of recipes are readily available for all different types of meals and levels of cooking experience. If you’re looking for a recipe and you aren’t sure if you can make it in the Instant Pot, you can google it and chances are good that someone has already tried it.
There are also many, many Instant Pot cookbooks available online or at the bookstore. You can search for the books by category such as gluten-free or maybe you’re doing the Keto diet. Regardless, you won’t be short on ideas for creating delicious, easy Instant Pot meals in your kitchen for your family. Before I share my favorite Instant Pot recipes, I should explain what an Instant Pot is and how you can use it.
What is an Instant Pot?
An Instant Pot is a type of pressure cooker that can decrease the cooking time for many different foods. Depending on the model and size of your Instant Pot, there are many different cook settings to choose from, in addition to the pressure cooker setting. Newer models even have an air fryer or cool designs. We have the 6-Quart Instant Pot Lux model and it has the following settings: Soup/Broth; Meat/Stew; Cake; Egg; Sauté; Rice; Multigrain; Porridge; Steam; Slow Cook; Manual. I have to admit that I haven’t used all of these settings, as I have a few favorites that do the job perfectly for me. Mostly I use the Meat/Stew, Egg, Sauté, Slow Cook, and Manual settings.
Along with the different cooking settings, the variety of cooking utensils that accompany the Instant Pot is constantly growing. From cake pans to egg racks, you’ll find the tools you need to create great meals in your kitchen. The Instant Pot works well for those one-pot meals that have multiple steps, such as sauteing onions or bacon before adding the rest of the ingredients. Not only does it save on dishes, but it also saves on space especially if you’re cooking in a small space. And for those of you that RV, the Instant Pot saves on propane!
